South Baltimore Land Trust.

I organize alongside the South Baltimore Community Land Trust (SBCLT).

The South Baltimore Land Trust is a hub of south baltimore community residents and small-scale developers who are committed to building CLTs as a solution to predatory and racist housing policy. Community land trusts are seen as community-based forms of development that could energize a neighborhood, retain public subsidies, and provide housing resistant to speculative pressure. As a community organizer from the Baltimore neighborhood of Wesport describes it, “Over decades, speculative housing has produced high rents. Despite being surrounded by several large developments such as the M&T stadium … none has been a source of significant income or livable wages for Wesport’s residents at large.”
